The District carries out an extensive program of training designed to help you learn the methods that you need carry out the vision, goals, and mission of Scouting. These courses are intended to supplement the Council-level training activities such as University of Scouting and to permit the training to be adapted to and customized for the needs of the District. In addition to any scheduled training events listed in the list of training opportunities below, the District training committee will also work with individual units to set up training courses on an as-needed basis. Please contact Fritz Struve if you have suggestions or needs for training. This is an excellent way to build communication about the scouting program between youth, parents and adult leaders involved with your unit. Please encourage all adult leaders and assistant leaders, Scouters and committee members in your unit to attend these training sessions. For other training resources, see also the BSA Online Learning Center for online Youth Protection Training, safety-related courses, and a wide variety of Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Venturing-related training. |
